Driving Rural Change
From a grassroots community effort to a women-led advocacy movement driving rural change. Enlightened India Foundation was registered as a public trust on 15 February 2021. What started as a small, community-rooted effort evolved into a structured attempt to reimagine how education, leadership, and skills can be nurtured in rural settings.

THE Timeline
How We Evolved
2021-2022
The Spark: Establishment & Capacity Building
We established our first training centre in Slate Godam village and a community-run learning space in Rakkar village.
During this foundational phase, we identified and trained five adolescent girls as youth leaders.
These young women received hands-on training in academic facilitation, foundational digital literacy, and sports instruction.
We learned early on that when young women are trusted and supported, they become powerful agents of change for their communities.
2022-2023
The Evolution: Transfer of Community Leadership
We transitioned from pilot activities to stable, women-led implementation.
Access to our Slate Godam centre was disrupted due to a major landslide.
In response, activities were successfully relocated, and our newly established centre in Mohli emerged as a primary hub.
A major milestone was a week-long education camp led entirely by our trained women youth leaders.
This youth-led camp engaged more than 90 children from Rakkar, Mohli, and surrounding villages.
Overall, we expanded our reach to over 180 children during this period.
2023-2024
The Expansion: Inclusive Access & Evidence Gathering
We expanded our footprint to Sidhpur village.
This new centre provided inclusive access for children from migrant tribal families from Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
Participation steadily increased, with our overall reach crossing 300 children across all centres.
Female participation remained consistently above 70 percent across sports, digital learning, and educational activities.
Our trained women and youth leaders conducted a community-led health and wellbeing survey to map child nutrition and household substance exposure.
Boxing fundamentals were introduced by activity leaders to build discipline and self-confidence among the youth.
2024-2025
The Pivot: Strategic Reset & Institutional Strengthening
Community learning spaces continued to operate across Rakkar, Mohli, and Sidhpur villages.
However, we faced increasing operational vulnerabilities due to reduced founder presence, resource constraints, and the heavy academic load of our youth leaders entering their final year of college.
To protect the integrity of our model, we took the difficult but necessary decision to temporarily close our routine Learning Hubs operations in June 2025.
We initiated a strategic reset to focus on organisational restructuring, strengthening documentation, and the development of scalable learning models.
This transition is helping us build the institutional readiness needed to scale our impact beyond physical centres.
2025-2026
The Scale: Systemic Impact & Institutional Partnerships
Following our strategic reset, we successfully developed and launched our dedicated Evidence & Insights Unit and Civic & Governance Lab.
We boosted our partnerships with schools and institutions to widely deploy our Adaptive Skills Framework.
Our Advocacy efforts scaled up to the district and state levels, bridging the gap between frontline rural realities and systemic administrative action.
Our data-driven reports gained significant public traction, featuring in regional and national media publications, including The Tribune.
